So excited to help reveal the cover of @keshewrites Strange Familiars, an academic rivals-to-lovers adult fantasy set in a magical veterinary school that treats witches’ familiars and mythical creatures! Gwendolynne Chan and Harrisford Briggs both need to come top of the year, but first they must reluctantly team up to diagnose the source of some deadly magical surges that are rocking their way across London and causing the animals to go a bit feral.

Hello it’s me a giant Dino nerd!! I didn’t grow out of it when I grew up, it only became more intense 😅 like tattoos,stuffed toys and books 🤭

Who else is Dino 🦕 obsessed and loves reading about them?

If you have a passion for both manga and dinosaurs, I highly recommend Dinosaur Sanctuary. This delightful slice-of-life story follows a girl named Suzume, who dreams of becoming a dino keeper and rescuing a struggling sanctuary known for its dinosaur exhibits. In a world where dinosaurs are a common sight yet have lost their charm, this particular sanctuary (Dinoland) is facing challenges, featuring older, injured, and disinterested dinosaurs that fail to attract visitors. As the rookie, Suzume’s fresh ideas and optimistic spirit may be just what the park needs to thrive. Additionally, the manga benefits from the expertise of a real-life palaeontologist who serves as a research consultant, ensuring that the story is grounded in realistic aspects and factual accuracy of dinosaur anatomy. I find this manga to be incredibly charming and enjoyable. Although I’m not completely caught up with the latest volumes , I wholeheartedly recommend it to any manga and dinosaur enthusiast!

My closest friend also bought me for my birthday,this cute little book - dinosaur friendship, full of one page comic strips of quirky interactions by dinosaurs and their friends. It’s such a sweet add to my collection 😍

Most of you might not know this, but I am a massive Studio Ghibli fan. When I went to Japan to study for a month. I did a little shopping, and came home with these cute homewares. I’m also slowly adding to my collection of books as well. Howl’s moving castle is forever my go to Ghibli film, it is pure magic and romance blended together with a dash of cute side characters. I love the weirdness of these movies, and the way the art is so uniquely done. 😍

It’s a little late- but here is the bookshop trail, Brisbane. Which @krysgirls and I did for my birthday on Tuesday. We managed to get all the trail done in a day, plus added two extra shops on. We travelled around Brisbane, and it was so much fun. Highly recommend if you love going to different bookshops, and exploring different parts of the city.

Turning the page to Chapter 33 was so much fun celebrating among books. Extra bonus my gift was a book shopping spree in each store. All stores are tagged at the bottom 😊

Bloom - I am about 100 pages in, and it has hooked me!
It’s a suspenseful, psychological thriller with just the right amount of floral goodness I adore. This book is perfect for a spring spooky read. I’m eager to find out the dark secret Della is hiding, and who is this creepy stalker?! I keep jumping from suspect to suspect. It made me consume the pages yesterday, and I keep wanting more. So far this is such a great read and would recommend.

Brother Bones - Is an illustrated children’s book bringing awareness to autism, and helping children understand it. The illustrations are super cute , and I love the art style. The overall message is touching, and gives children a better understanding of what someone who has autism may go through, and how to accept their differences. To also accept your own because, everyone is different and that is ok. Would highly recommend for parents.

Welcome back to another fortnightly reading tracker!! This month I don’t think I’ll reach my reading goals unfortunately 😩 uni has been all consuming. I have submitted 10 assignments so far ,and have 8 lefts and 1 exam. I cannot believe how many I have done and still doing 😅

Welcome back to another fortnightly reading tracker!! This month I don’t think I’ll reach my reading goals unfortunately 😩 uni has been all consuming. I have submitted 10 assignments so far ,and have 8 lefts and 1 exam. I cannot believe how many I have done and still doing 😅

I have had a bit of burnout this fortnight, I also went into a reading slump as well. But I have some exciting things coming up which I’m excited to announce soon!

I received a big chunk of my spooky season horrors yesterday. Yay!! 🙌

So I have a total of 14 books 😳 I am reading the month of October. The last one is Season of Fear, and I have yet to receive the special edition or normal edition. So will post an epic pic for that later 😍

In Australia, it’s spring for us 🌸. So I find it super weird, because we like to celebrate the spooky season but also spring 😂. So for me October is spooky season, and September and November is spring time. Hence why I’m waiting to start this stack of horrors for next month.

Ok so this is now the third book from Miye Lee, and I think this author is going to be an auto buy.

Dallergut Dream Department Store duology - think a dream world where your dreams are tangible products sold at a department store like Harrods, Myers or Macy’s. Each level has different types of dreams, and each level is run by a different dream manager. It has real life relatable moments through the eyes of the customers. It also has a great world building of dreams and imagination.

Break Room - think game show, but with villains from your office? Office workers can probably relate more than me, as I work in a warehouse but! We always have that one person who is annoying, frustrating or just plain creepy right? Well take that person, and put them in a documentary/ game reality show. That’s what this book is about. In the perspective of one person, who is nominated by his coworkers. It’s a little sad, a little weird, and maybe somewhat jarring. Because, what if you are that annoying coworker in the break room? It gets you thinking…on how you deal with hate (both sides) and being disliked. What do you do to over come this sadness? When understanding that people don’t always understand where you are coming from, or who you really are. In a world of judgment it’s hard being yourself.

I love both of Miye’s stories, and look forward to reading the third book in the Dallergut dream world.

Also I do love the cover of Break room, it’s funky and bright.

This book completely captivated me with its breathtaking cover artwork and gorgeous visuals throughout the pages.

My fortnightly reading tracker for the end of August. I’m so happy I read 7 books in total for August in between my uni studies. Now should I have studied a bit more instead of reading? Maybe, but this is how I self care at the moment - when I’m overwhelmed with uni,I read. It is the only thing getting me through this last teaching period.

Local Heavens took me soo long to read, because it’s a big book with a lot to take in. But I finally finished it. I still need to get this review out but again a lot to think about.

The poisoner is probably my favourite read this month, maybe even the year. My first 5/6 star rating and I can’t get enough.

What is your self care routine? When you are super stressed and down. What gets you through the day?

I am loving this year! Purely, because I started back into reading fiction, and my goal was 24 for the year I’m now on 32 books. It’s my happy place now and I love it!

I’m not a romance girlie, it’s not the genre I am drawn to. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good bit of spicy, fluffy, warm and fuzzy feels of love. It’s just not something I pick up on a regular basis. However, this ARC I received from @krystapaeauthor was pure goodness in a book. It even made me cry a little. Shhh 🤫 don’t judge.

The characters made the story especially Grant, I feel we all need a Grant in our life.

The lessons and Hawaiian cultural interwoven throughout just added to it all the beautiful crafted words the author wove together to make such a beautiful story.

Even the 🌶️ was just the right amount to keep you wanting more.

Overall I really enjoyed reading this, and while I am a little late with my review it is now available to buy. Congratulations to the author for releasing her new book 💕

This book series is a trilogy and remains one of my favourite reads from my teenage years. Although it took me quite some time to track down all of them, I finally succeeded and I can’t wait to reread them.

This book series is a trilogy and remains one of my favourite reads from my teenage years. Although it took me quite some time to track down all of them, I finally succeeded and I can’t wait to reread them.

The world building is exceptional, and the characters give you all the feels. Even though I haven’t completed this stack, I have read a few. My absolute favourites are - Water Moon, The girl who fell beneath the sea and Dallergut dream department duology. I have a whole Wishlist of about 60 something Asian literature and fantasy books I want and need. It would have to be my favourite genre.

This is what I read in the last two weeks. Managed to finish four books, which I’m so happy about 😅 I need to finish Local Heavens this week, and I have three July reads left - plus a bookclub read. However, I’m starting to realise I’m a bit of a mood reader. Sooo, this might not go as planned 🫣 we will see. What have you been reading at the moment? Any new favourites?

Ps - all my reading tracker photos are mine, and these were taken in Japan last year. I really loved the vending machines which is my favourite word in Japanese haha it’s 自動販売機 (jidouhanbaiki). Just a little fun fact by Kelsea 😅

Oh! This book has me falling in love with a world that doesn’t exist, and so desperately wanting it. A place filled with magic, of paper cranes, and riding songs. It’s a gorgeous beautiful world that will always be a favourite of mine. Loved this book so so much.

Ok! any sticker collectors here? I’m bringing out my inner child with collecting stickers again as an adult 🤭 my husband and I, when travelling to Japan always collect bside label stickers. We even have a bside folder for them. They are my ultimate treasure! Stickers are the best and I’m always keen to trade 😂
