Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to NetGalley and Del Rey Books for granting me access to this ARC. I entered with minimal expectations, unsure of what to anticipate, and emerged from the story completely amazed. This is my first book by Elizabeth Lim , even though I have all her books , plus the special edition of Forgery of Fate, which I have yet to read. However, after this book , I am going to spend a month reading all her books. Her writing is something I aspire

Firstly, can I say I don’t normally like historical fiction . When I read the blurb for this, I was intrigued but still not sure if this would be for me. It wasn’t an easy read; it wasn’t something I could finish in a day or even a couple of days. Why? Because not only was the plot and storyline heavy, but the author writes with so much eloquence and complexity that I was struggling to keep up with it all.
