Firstly, can I say I don’t normally like historical fiction . When I read the blurb for this, I was intrigued but still not sure if this would be for me. It wasn’t an easy read; it wasn’t something I could finish in a day or even a couple of days. Why? Because not only was the plot and storyline heavy, but the author writes with so much eloquence and complexity that I was struggling to keep up with it all.
